Share your Science.
Here you can learn as much or as little as you like about sharing your science through film. Videos are a great way to share your science with an audience, whether that;s for your own gratification, to increase science literacy, promote your field, or the outreach that comes with your grant. If there’s any tutorials you’d love us to cover, let us know!
STORYTELLING
To educate, you have to also entertain. To share your science on film there has to be a point, a purpose, a story. That doesn’t need to be a novel, but there should be something that carries the audience through. Whether its 1 minute or 1 hour.
FILMING
We’re not out to make the next bunch of natural history filmmakers here. But what we do believe is the world needs more scientists who can use cameras well and utilise them to storytell. So being competent with all types of cameras can open up a wealth of opportunity.
EDITING
Part of what we do here is edit your stories. If you need us. But if you don’t, we’d love to empower you to do that yourselves. Filmmaking and editing really do fit nicely together. If you have the right footage, it’s easy to edit. In here you’ll find some editing walkthroughs that will help.

You can watch each video in turn, like a course. But you can also jump to the ones that interest you. Just like Ski runs, Green is entry level, Blue is Intermediate and Black is Advanced.
